Most of the time the enemy just gets out of the way fast enough. Next build they claim there will be less of a delay between the warning indicator and the actual strike. So hopefully that'll fix that issue.
However, Orbital Strikes not actually striking IS indeed a common problem. I for one often lead a squad and have placed orbitals many times in a place where i should've gotten plenty of kills, and yet i get nothing. I've even told my guys where i was putting it and to watch for it only for them to tell me that it never came down. It is definitely bugged, it's not just you. |

I've been wondering if it only displays if you get a kill server side.... otherwise it won't display it. The tree didn't fall in the forest kinda thing.
Well,if that were true then only orbitals that produced kills would actually land, no? There are plenty of times orbitals land and don't kill anything. Then there are times where they just flat out don't land at all. The strike gets accepted and says it's going off, it just never happens at all.
My two theories are:
1) It's a bug. I really think it's just this. Sometimes you'll land them all with some killing, some not. But every one of them lands with visual confirmation from teammates or yourself that it did indeed happen. Sometimes they just plain don't come down at all with visual confirmation it never happened even though the leader's screen did say 'Precision Strike Inbound'
2) It's possible Orbitals will not always be a sure thing. Currently we think they are because they are NPC executed. Eventually if they are Dust originated and EVE executed, there may not always be that ship up there to drop it for you.Or they just may choose not to do it. I don't know if that's the case or not, but it's possible the system is just randomly ignoring some intentionally to simulate that. I really don't know. |
